Surely we deserve what we get. !!! We talk a lot about this, that and the other, but I rarely meet any doers....either put up or shut up! I cannot stand the crooks, liars, ill-educated or worse still half-educated Nigerian establishment. ..the lunatics are running the asylum. So what do I do? Be the typical Nigerian hypocrite till I get an opportunity to plunder. The country like other failed states in sub-Saharan will implode sooner or later. mr dele cole needs to stop living in theory, and get practical. how much has profited from the crisis in the delta, and what is he doing to make amends?

he makes solid points though, except that he doesn't call for any retribution or sanctions against the admirals who actually profit directly from this trade. why indict everyone but the perpetrators of this rape? can the admirals explain the source of their wealth?

we have theory, but can it work? it won't, unless the current crop of leaders gets serious about making changes in the lives of the nation. we're being ruled by a rogue's club of greedy, selfish bastards whose only priority is self-aggrandisement. how else can you explain the fact that the same oil boom that's developing the UAE is doing nothing for us?

people like mr cole need to be aware that the world is watching them. they really ought to stop trying to blow smoke into our faces, do they think we're blind? as obasanjo's adviser, what steps did he take toward pushing this agenda that he now proposes so confidently, or did he just have an nationalist intellectual epiphany? now that he can't offend obj, now that he is no longer relevant, he wants to tell us how to run a country that he and his cronies helped drag to its knees.

and now, from a practical perspective, how does he make his plan work? who will run the program and ensure transparency? who will monitor the navy, the bank accounts and the flow of oil? will we rely on people like himself, or angels from heaven?

First and foremost, Dele Cole is not a Nigerian, he is from Sierra Leone, thought I'd get that straightened out. Second, people like Dele Cole are the problem not the solution, he has stolen more from this country than most people who actually are Nigerians.

This corrupt friend of the corrupt military is proposing half-intelligent solutions, just the kind of fixes that create openings for yet more corruption. The problem in the Nigeria Delta is no different to the problem in most other parts of this country, no roads, no power, no education, no health care, corrupt leadership, and poverty in the midst of plenty! This is the same problem in Maiduguri, Sokoto, Yenogoa, Ife, kwali, Wukari, Bwari, Birnin Kebbi, Potiskum, Ogoja, Katsina-Ala, Badagary, Sapele, and so on and so on. There is no Niger-Delta problem, its a Nigeria problem, lets not kid ourselves here, no one region has it so much better than the other, we live in a near-failed State where the State cannot secure its borders nor guarantee the security of it's citizen's lives and property.

The state is failing, and Dele Cole is part of the problem and the failure, even as we speak, he is at it, a slave descendant with a 'simple' plan.

It's the economy stupid, it's the economy! Concentrate on the fucking economy.

I wonder what we did wrong that providence bestowed upon us such leaders.
