There was one event,which I fondly remember late in the sixties, when the then Governor of the Benue Plateau State, hosted an impressive farewell party,on the occasion of Mr. Smith's departure from Nigeria. John made a very memorable speech,which made us all give him a standing ovation. I have followed the BBC programmes relating to the 50 years of Nigerian Independence, and like to praise the high standard of their quality. I wish to make contact with Mr Smith to salute him and give him my respects.
