Nkoro,

Helen Ukpabio has a powerful influence on the Christian community in Nigeria. Her films spread fear. How is she helping the hunger,joblessness,no power supply and don't forget the children that are being abused and killed because of the fear she is spreading? She is a wealthy and powerful women.

I have not heard anything regarding her helping, just about her films, her wealth and how they link to the abuse of the children.

If anyone has heard of her doing good things to help the children please share.

She is not the only so called clergy that is being sought out. All that are involve in the abuse and killing of the children are also. So called Bishop Sunday Ulup-Aya and Bishop Sunday Okon Williams has been arrested and there will be more and hopefully she will see the error of her ways and stop spreading fear of child witches.

I watched dispatches 12th November 2008 about the plight of the witch children.
I do not follow any organised religious path, yet i consider myself to be a morally upstanding and gentle human being. I have always thought of God as a loving and caring entity...when i have thought of God at all...for that is what my childhood sunday school days would have me believe...and i do not deny the existance of a higher power...I just have become disillusioned with religion as a whole and the arguments it causes.
I applaud the efforts of Gary and the good guys who are devoting their efforts to improving the situation for the tortured children of AKWA IBOM.
I am appauled that no-one has seen fit to encarcerate that EVIL WOMAN CALLED HELEN UKPABIO yet though. How on earth is she still free to spread her SATANIC RANTINGS???
She needs to suffer the product of her own teachings and be tortured accordingly i think. She seems to loosely draw her material from the old testament and adapt it for her own evil ends...(i wonder if she has heard of ''AN EYE FOR AN EYE...A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH??'').
The woman is nothing but an EVIL MEGOLAMANIAC who extorts money from the poor and the vulnerable in order to line her own coffers...the scarey thing is that she is at perfect liberty to spread her EVIL RANTINGS unchecked and unchallenged by any higher authority of the land.
She stated in the Dispatches programme that she ''IS A VOICE''...i detected anger in her voice when she was being gently questioned by the female reporter...and i detected menace also...as in...if anyone were to challenge her, she could cause them trouble(did anyone else who saw this programme feel this??).
This woman is a financially rich yet morally and emotionally impoverished evil person...who... if there is a hell...will definitely be going there. The sad thing is, she most probably has too many others to take her place and further her lies.

these poor scared children have suffered so much in their lives at such young ages, and to top it off the average life expenency in Akwa Ibom is just 47.
the hateful and spiteful way the so called preachers are behaving in MUST be stopped.
i am not and have never been a religous person, but i can understand the appeal of being so, these poor people who attend these so called churches are guilty of being ignorant and being brainwashed to the point that they will harm their children on the say so of the church people who are happy to take all of their money, (i thought religon was free?)

Let me get this straight, you believe innocent kids are evil, all powerful witches? If so why are they poor, starved and malnuritoned and not living in big mansions with wonderful play things like the pastors. surely if they were witches they would get something out of it. It seems more than likely that Elijah is not the person (s)he says he is. Notice how Helen and 'Elijah' both use the same examples in their arguments? That poor little innocent children are being murdered, tortured or cast out after those disgusting films are circulated for monetary gain is disgustingly immoral. That in this era of globalisation to find that such filth can be made in the name of Christianity and acted out for real by so called Christians is barbaric. Why are the Nigerians here being so defensive? I have just watched the documentary 'Saving Africa's Witch Children' and am appalled that such ignorance can still exist in this day and age. It's amazing how Africans like running to defend our problems rather than dealing with them. We are always looking for someone to blame and it's usually the west or developed nations and we wonder why we aren't developing. How anyone can say that this is somehow a manufactured story baffles me to no end and goes to prove that stupidity and ignorance are abundant. What irks me most is the fact that it's innocent children who are being abused just because some people want to make money.
