Excellent piece on 50 years of oil spills in Nigeria

In Newsweek here. There need to be global standards applied globally for global oil & gas companies. The mess that Shell, BP, ExxonMobil & co make in the West and are forced to clean up needs equally to be applied in poor countries with weak accountability and governance structures like Nigeria.
