On power in Nigeria

Excellent piece by Ijeoma Nwogwugwu yesterday in This Day. Here. It doesn't look like the power issue in Nigeria is being approached with any kind of seriousness right now..

I do not frankly pay much attention to these writings of much of the Nigerian press on these matters, not just because they tend to be generally sorely ill-informed on these matters (though the gossip value on this one was quite captivating) but largely because the same press tend to stoke the embers of ill-informed populism that prevents Nigeria from undertaking many of the necessary (albeit sometimes difficult) reforms needed to turn-around the power sector.
