The killers talk
Excellent article from Jos in the New York Times yesterday. One thing is almost certain - last Sunday will not mark the end of the violence, given that nothing is being done to address the root causes. Troublingly, what started out as a political issue (who controls Jos North) is now settling down to be a religious/ethnic issue.
The only crumb of comfort is that the disturbances remain localised to Jos and environs. It is not clear how much "outside support" really is involved. The men who confessed to the killings in the New York Times piece are local guys..
