Telephobia

Does anyone know why the GSM phone networks are so spectacularly bad right now? Its almost impossible to make calls or send texts either to your own network or cross-network. Haba.

NITEL workers are on strike apparently, and as all the phone companies link through them, they are all handicapped. It's not just phones, ISPs as well.

I've heard it's the Nitel strike, it's meaning that other networks are being overloaded. It's also affecting calls into the country. I couldn't skype to a Nigerian mobile or use a cheap predial number today to get through, which must mean they terminate at Nitel.

Does anyone know if the Nitel strike means all of Nitel is just switched off?
